3/16/17 More Plotting Against Paul

The next morning, several of the most zealous of the Jews who are against Paul get together to discuss the matter.  They decide to take an oath of kherem.  “We will not eat or drink until that man is dead!” they vow.  “We place ourselves under the wrath of God until such time as our oath has been fulfilled.”  Over forty people enter into this vow, and then they all pay a visit to certain Sadducees of the Sanhedrin.  “We have vowed that we will neither eat nor drink anything until Paul is dead.  We need you to convince the rest of the council to go before the commander of the Roman garrison and request that he bring Paul before the council for questioning tomorrow.  When he is close enough to where we will be hiding, we will kill him.”
