1/13/17 Everybody, Go Tell

“Jesus commanded His apostles to go through all the world and tell everyone His message – that He came and died for us all so that we might have real life with Him forever, free from the slavery of sin.  Because God told us through the prophet Joel that, ‘whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved,’ but who will call on Jesus’ Name to be saved when they haven’t heard of Him?  If they haven’t heard of Him, how can they believe in Him?  Both the prophets Isaiah and Nahum wrote, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’  All of us who belong to Jesus are commanded to go and tell others about Him, so that everyone everywhere can hear this message of salvation through His sacrifice for us.  This is that gospel of peace that the prophets wrote of.  And if we follow Jesus’ command to go and tell the world about Him, we will be helping many people to break free from sin, to find the peace and joy that comes only through the Holy Spirit’s work in our hearts, and to have the security of knowing that their sins are paid for and eternal life with Jesus in Heaven awaits them.”

Romans 10:14-15, Joel 2:32, Isaiah 52:7, Nahum 1:15
