1/9/17 Patient Love, Not Injustice

“God is perfect, sinless, just.  He cannot tolerate sin, and sin cannot be where God is.  If He were to exercise His justice on us, all of us should be destroyed.  Not one of us is without sin.  But He created us and He loves us, and so He wants to give each person every possible chance to turn away from sin and come to Him.  Instead of showing His righteous anger against sin and sinners, He waits patiently, willing to put up with the worst of us for as long as it takes for all who will come to Him to do so.  And while He waits patiently for those who have yet to turn to Him through His Son, He shows His glory and His mercy to those of us who have already come.  He was ready and waiting for us.  He called us to Him, and we have come, and now He is just beginning to show us what it means to be children of the King of all Kings.  And this glory is not only for the Jews, but for the Gentiles as well.  He spoke to us through the prophet Hosea, saying, ‘I will call them My people, who were not My people, and her beloved, who was not beloved.  And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, “You are not My people,” there they shall be called sons of the living God.’”
