12/2/16 Who Is Better, Jews Or Gentiles?

“So, then, are Jews better than Gentiles?  No, we are all the same in the sight of God, because everyone sins.  Many have recorded God’s words on the subject of human sin.  ‘There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God.  They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no not one.’  These words are recorded in the Psalms and in King Solomon’s book of Ecclesiastes.  ‘Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.’  These words are recorded in the Psalms as well.  Then, Isaiah writes, ‘Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known.’  Another from the Psalms says, ‘There is no fear of God before their eyes.’  We know that they Law of Moses is there to show us what sin is, and whoever knows the Law and does not follow it completely is guilty of sin.  Because of this, the whole world stands guilty before God, and no one by himself is able to receive a verdict of innocent.”
