11/7/16 Generous, Joyful Giving Produces A Large Harvest Of Blessings

“I tell you, whoever plants a small garden will reap a small harvest, but whoever plants a large garden will reap a bountiful harvest.  So I would ask that each person give from his heart, and give what he believes in his heart is right to give, instead of giving out of a sense of obligation, because God loves it when people give out of their joy.  We know that God is able to supply all our needs, and He will reward those who give joyfully and generously, supplying not all that we could want, but all that we could need in abundance for every good work He calls us to do.  As it is written in the Psalms, ‘He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.’  I pray that our God, who gives the seeds to those who plant the garden and sustains them with food while they work, will give you the seed to plant and multiply what you sow, in turn multiplying the harvest of your faithfulness, and at the same time build you up and supply all your needs so that we may turn to Him in thanksgiving.  In the giving of funds to our suffering brothers and sisters in Jerusalem, we are not only supplying their needs, but receiving an overflowing abundance of blessings through the generous outpouring of thanks to our God, who gives us all.  Those who receive the gift you give also receive proof of your obedience to God and to your faith in Jesus, and they give glory to God for this and for your loving sacrifice made for them and for all the brothers and sisters, by praying for you because of the grace of God they see through you.  We give thanks to God for His indescribable gift!”
