Paul and Silas travel through the region of Galatia and Phrygia, but instead of going through Asia, as they originally intended, they are led by the Holy Spirit to stay out of Asia altogether, and instead to go on to Mysia. After passing through Mysia, they are again led on a path away from the intended destination of Bithynia. Instead, they go on to Troas. There, they make camp for the night, and Paul has a vision. In the vision, a man from Macedonia appears in front of him. The man says to Paul, “Please, come to Macedonia and help us!” Paul, after seeing this vision, jumps to his feet, calling the others in the group to come. “Brothers, God has just given me a vision of a man from Macedonia begging for us to go to him and help him and his people. Let us go right now!” The others agree, and they all set out for Macedonia right away.
