2/17/16 Hypocritical Pharisees

“The Pharisees have no qualms about taking money and property away from widows and orphans, then turning around and praying loud, elaborate prayers in the town square.  They are like the Greek actors who play many different parts in the same play – they show the world different faces in different situations, whatever is best for them at the time.  Instead of showing people how to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, they bar themselves and everyone they come in contact with from entering.  They will do whatever it takes to bring someone along to their way of thinking, creating disciples who are worse than they are.  I tell you the truth:  when the day of judgment comes, there will be great punishment for them.”

Matthew 23:13-15, Mark 12:40, Luke 20:47
