4/12/15 The Greatest Prophet Who Ever Lived…Still Had A Crisis Of Faith

Jesus, knowing what the crowd is thinking, quickly begins to address them before John’s disciples are out of earshot.  “Do not think that John is weak, or easily influenced.  Remember who it was that you went out to see in the wilderness.  Not a man who bends to the will of the people, or of the government.  Not someone dressed in fine clothing and living in luxury.  A strong man, a prophet of the Lord, living in the wilderness off of the land, dressed in rough clothing.  But not just any prophet.  John is the one who was written of by the prophet Malachi, who declared, ‘”I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.’”

Matthew 11:7-10, Luke 7:24-27, Malachi 3:1
